DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A Des Moines tire store worker is back on the job, a little sore, after chasing down his car and capturing a car thief.

According to The Des Moines Register, 36-year-old Timothy Ray was working at Graham Tire on Saturday afternoon when he noticed someone had gotten into his car and was starting it with keys that had been under a seat.

Ray ran over to stop the thief but was hit on a knee by the car as the man tried to drive away. The car then hit a fence, a pole, the tire store building, another pole and a parked car.

Despite his injuries, Ray got up and ran after the car. When he caught up with it, Ray grabbed the thief and held him for police.
