Des Moines Man Leads Officer on Chase
HARDIN COUNTY, Iowa - A man from Des Moines is facing charges after police say he led them on a chase Saturday night on Highway 20.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s office says that Leonardo Garduno was going 85mph in a 65 mph zone. When officers tried to pull him over he led them on a 30 minute chase. Garduno was arrested after his vehicle went into a ditch in Grundy County. He is being held on multiple charges. During the chase a patrol car collided with a pickup. The deputy involved was taken to a hospital, no one from the pickup truck was injured. Both vehicles are considered a total loss. The Iowa State Patrol is investigating both the chase and crash.
