DES MOINES - A 21-year-old Des Moines man has been charged with vehicular homicide after the death of a motorcyclist injured in a collision on March 29.
Polk County Jail records say Jacob Phipps remained in custody on Thursday, pending $25,000 bail. Online court records don't list the name of his attorney.
Authorities say Phipps was intoxicated and speeding when his car crossed the center line on a street near the Iowa State Fairgrounds and struck a motorcycle being driven by 51-year-old Michael Harden. Police say Harden died Tuesday. Harden lived in Des Moines.
