By Richard Pratt

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a 25-year-old Des Moines man has been arrested on suspicion of robbing a bank.

Police say in a news release that the robbery occurred around 11:45 a.m. Monday at Liberty Bank on the west side of Des Moines.

Tellers say the robber fled west after leaving the bank. No injuries were reported, and it was unclear whether he was armed or got away with any money.

Police say officers saw a man who fit the description walking on University Avenue. He was picked up and later arrested.

Police identified him as Phoutthasa Prathane.

He remained in custody on Tuesday. Online court records don't yet list the case or his attorney.
