CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The pattern of snowfall followed by colder air continues yet again. Temperatures this morning range from -10 to -15, with favored river valleys probably dropping to near -20.

With such cold temperatures, it takes very little wind to make it feel even colder. Wind chills of -20 to -30 are common this morning.

Frostbite occurs on exposed skin in less than 30 minutes when the wind chill is in this range. Use the same precautions you've used the other times we've had this bitterly cold air this season: limit time outdoors in the morning and cover up. Wind chills will rise to around -10 in the afternoon.

A wind chill advisory is in effect through noon Thursday across the entire KCRG-TV9 viewing area.
