CEDAR RAPIDS – Police said two people who stole movies returned to the scene of the crime one day later and were recognized.

Danny Abram, 54, and Cheryl Abram, 49, were charged with fifth-degree theft Tuesday morning after they went to Sam’s Club, 2605 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE. According to a police report, employees recognized them as the people who had stolen DVDs and Blu-ray discs valued at $474 on Monday.

Sgt. Cristy Hamblin, a police spokeswoman, said officers identified the pair on surveillance video and connected them to the crime.

Cheryl Abram was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia when officers realized she had a marijuana pipe with her, police said.

Both of the Abrams were allowed to sign a promise to appear in court and were released.
