DES MOINES, Iowa - Political insiders said Monday that former Iowa Gov. Chet Culver is being considered for a national political job.

Culver's name is apparently being floated as the next chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

The website politico.com cites a top DNC official that said Culver could replace current DNC chair Tim Kaine, if Kaine decides to run for the Senate in Virginia.

KCCI tried reaching Culver for comment on the report, but did not hear back yet from him.
