BENTON COUNTY, Iowa - Four people have been injured following a crash along Highway 30 on Monday afternoon. 20 year old Haylie Hayes of Cedar Rapids lost control of her car and crossed the center line. That's when her car spun and was facing in the opposite direction. Not being able to see her soon enough, 28 year old Jacob Nolan of Atkins, then, rear ended her.

Crews responded to the crash just after 5 p.m. near the intersection of Highways 30 and 218 in Benton County, about three miles southwest of Newhall.

Our crew at the scene reports that helicopters transported two of the injured to an area hospital for treatment. They have been identified as passengers in Hayes' car. They are Trenton McCleary, 26, of Cedar Rapids and 21 year-old Austin Kness of Cedar Rapids. Hayes and Nolan were transported by ambulance. Nolan's father said he has since been released from the hospital. Authorities say weather played a factor in the crash.

A separate crash happened around 3 p.m. on Highway 150, north of Center Point. It's unknown how many people were involved or if anyone was injured.

Authorities have not released any further details on the crashes.
