BONDURANT, Iowa - Authorities with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said a vehicle crash left one person dead and three people injured in the 6500 block of NE 78th Avenue on Saturday.

Officials said it appeared one vehicle heading eastbound lost control and turned into the path of a second vehicle heading westbound.

An ambulance transported three people to local hospitals with serious injuries. Authorities have not identified the victims.

Authorities said road conditions may have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
