SPRINGVILLE – One person was hurt in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday on Highway 151 near Springville.

A van and a pickup collided near Alderman Road, just east of Springville, around 9 a.m., according to the Linn County sheriff’s office.

Authorities said an elderly man was being taken to a hospital for some minor pain. The other driver was not injured. No one else was involved.

A deputy on the scene said the injured man had turned on to Highway 151 in the pickup and was getting up to speed when it was rear-ended by the van.

The wrecked vehicles stopped in the south ditch. Emergency vehicles and tow trucks were blocking the right lane of Highway 151, but traffic was not backed up.
