Crash Blocks Traffic on I-380 in Johnson County

  • Photo
JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa - A three-vehicle crash injured one person and backed-up traffic along Interstate 380 in Johnson County.

The crash happened just after 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, near the Iowa River. A pick-up truck pulling a trailer was attempting to make an illegal "u-turn" through a crossover. A second vehicle had to stop quickly to avoid hitting the truck and was struck by a third vehicle.

One person was injured and taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital by ambulance.

The crash blocked the inside lanes of both northbound and southbound traffic.

An investigation into the crash continues and officials said that charges are pending.
