LINN COUNTY, Iowa - A Cedar Rapids man has been charged following a deadly crash in Central City last spring. 25-year-old Brandon Schaul has been charged with vehicular homicide, OWI, driving while barred and serious injury by vehicle.

Officials Schaul struck a red 2010 Dodge Caravan with his 2005 Chevy pick-up near the intersection of Highway 13 and Valley Farm Road in May. Schaul was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the van, Rachel Hope Denny, 26, of Coggon, was pronounced dead at the scene. Denny's 2-year-old daughter, Izebella, was first transported to St. Lukes by Life Guard air ambulance. She was, then, moved to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
