IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - A new trial date has been set for former University of Iowa football player Cedric Everson, who is accused of sexual abuse.

Sixth Judicial District Chief Judge Patrick Grady on Friday set the trial for Jan. 10.

Everson and former teammate Abeberell Satterfield were accused of assaulting a woman in a dormitory room in October 2007. Both men were charged in May 2008 with second-degree sexual abuse.

Their case had been delayed multiple times since. But Satterfield entered a guilty plea in April to a reduced charge of assault with intent to inflict serious injury and agreed to turn state witnesses against Everson.

Satterfield was to be sentenced Friday. However, the sentencing on Thursday was postponed until after Everson's trial.
