SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — A Storm Lake man has pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of firearms by a convicted felon and faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Court documents say Kou Vue, 28, admitted that he had two handguns and a rifle and ammunition after having been convicted of a felony. He was convicted of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm in Wisconsin in December 2003.

The Sioux City Journal reports that authorities found weapons in Vue's home in March 2010 after his wife reported them to Storm Lake police.

A sentencing date has not been set.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years' imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment and three years of supervised release following imprisonment.
