SABULA, Iowa - One of the children who died in Friday's shooting in Newtown, Connecticut was 6-year-old Avielle Richman. She was the grand-daughter of Tom and Judy Hensel of Sabula, Iowa. Her mother, Jennifer Richman, grew up in the small Jackson County community. The Richmans moved from San Diego to Connecticut last year.
A group of Richman's friends from her 1984 East Central High school class started a memorial fund when one of their classmates died. Now they're reactivating that account in Avielle Richman's memory.
Family Friend Deb Warner said, "I wish I could tell people what to do to help. So far it just seems like thoughts and prayers go along way. I think a memorial would be the next step. I really don't know what else to send either."
Warner set up that fund at:
