Commission Members Believe Redistricting Plan's First Draft Will Pass

Soon, a redistricting commission will report its recommendation on the state's new congressional and legislative map.

All signs are pointing toward keeping the first draft.

The 2010 census results forced changes in Iowa's congressional and legislative boundaries.

This week, Iowans had the chance to voice their opinions about the new maps at four public hearings. Low turnouts at those hearings have the commission members believing Iowans are happy with the plan.

Members of the special commission say they believe theplan will pass Monday.
