Closed Water Park to ReopenKCCI.com
DES MOINES, Iowa —The owners of White Water University confirmed Monday that they will reopen in the summer of 2013.
They announced the news on their Facebook page on Friday, saying renovations were already underway. The responses online were all positive, the owners said. Many people talked about spending their childhood at the park. The owner said they didn't know how much of the park would reopen, but that they were aiming for an opening next summer. The 254,397 square foot water park at 5401 East University Avenue in Pleasant Hill closed in 2005. The original water park had a wave pool, tubing rides, water slides, a lazy river, children's play pool, hot tub, 18 holes of California-style golf and twin-engine go-carts. The site is also home to an annual Halloween haunted house. |
