COLESBURG, Iowa- The Clayton County Sheriff's department says they've made an arrest following an incident involving one of their deputies and a suspect.

Authorities say one deputy shot at a William Kobelt, 27, early Friday morning, after they say that he rammed the deputy's squad car.

Investigators say it happened as the Clayton County deputy was responding to a call of a Delaware County deputy attempting to stop a car near Colesburg. That vehicle didn't stop, and a chase began.

The Clayton County Sheriff's office says it was during that chase when the suspect hit the Clayton County deputy's car. The deputy shot at the Kobelt during what the sheriff's department calls a "brief encounter."

Deputies say Kobelt ran off. The deputy was treated at the Guttenberg hospital for minor injuries and released.
