Clay County Farmer Killed by Tractor

CLAY COUNTY, Iowa (AP) - The Clay County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to 3785 130th Ave in Everly at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept.21, where they discovered local farmer, Timothy Galm, 63, unconscious.
Upon arrival, authorities pronounced Galm dead at the scene and an investigation was conducted.
It was found Galm had started his Farmall 460 tractor from a standing position inside of the right rear tractor tire, while it was in reverse. The tractor knocked Galm over and ran over him.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Everly Fire and Rescue personnel, the Spencer Ambulance, Clay County Medical Examiner and Warner Funeral Home of Spencer.
