Cedar Rapids Woman Charged with Pimping, Again

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Mary J. Doolin remains in the Linn County Jail on her latest pimping charge.
Doolin, 61, of 1016 Third Ave. SW, was arrested April 8 after police went to her home seeking her daughter Debra Voshell on a Johnson County warrant for prostitution. They found Cheryl A. Everts "participating in prostiution," according to police Sgt. Cristy Hamblin.
"Through their investigation, (officers) found that Doolin was the person in charge and Everts was the prostitute," according to Hamblin.
Police arrested Doolin, Everts, and Voshell, 28. Everts, 45, of 300 31st St. NE, was charged with prostitution. She was released from jail after an initial court appearance.
Charged with pimping, Doolin remains in jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
Doolin was charged with pimping and Voshell with pandering after a February 2008 incident in Coralville in which Doolin arranged a meeting between Voshell and an undercover officer.
Doolin pleaded guilty to that charge and to another pimping charge stemming from an April 2008 incident in which she allowed her home to be used for prostitution.
Voshell also pleaded guilty to prostitution after a September 2009 incident in Johnson County.
