CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - The city of Cedar Rapids is planning a time capsule for the newly renovated convention center now called US Cellular Center.

The city is working with The Carl & Mary Koehler History Center to prepare a time capsule to be embedded in the walls of the convention complex. Ideas are being accepted through Friday for items that best represent Cedar Rapids. The top five will be chosen. The individuals who submit the winning ideas will be asked to submit their items by Feb. 15.

City officials say the items must fit in a time capsule that is 18 inches high by 14 inches wide by 5½ inches deep.
