CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Police in Cedar Rapids are investigating a stabbing that injured one person.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1800 block of A Avenue NE. Officers found a man who had been stabbed. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and police said they do not have any more information on his condition.

While searching for a suspect, police said they came across a man who ran from them. After a brief foot chase, police took the man - 26-year-old Harris Ceaser III, no known address - into custody. Ceaser was taken into custody for interference with official acts and warrants for unspecified federal charges. He has not been charged in connection with the stabbing, though Cedar Rapids officials said there may be other charges coming.

    The case remains under investigation.
