Cedar Rapids Police Investigate Shots Fired
By Dave Franzman, Reporter
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa- Cedar Rapids Police are investigating an apartment complex where as many as 10 shots may have been fired into one of the units. It’s the same complex where police responded to a shooting call on May 23rd. In that incident, three people were wounded by gunfire.
The incident at 1237 Third Avenue S.E. happened just before 11:00 Wednesday morning. One witness, who didn’t want to be identified, said he heard a rapid series of shots. He saw the damage to a front window at one of the ground floor units.
Police commanders said they have no reports of anyone wounded in the shooting this time.
Another witness, who also didn’t want to be identified, said he did not know if there was any connection between the May shooting and the one Wednesday morning.
He did say the three people wounded several months ago, including one initially listed as critical, all survived.
