CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A Cedar Rapids man lured a nine-year-old girl to a vacant trailer and showed her pornographic photos, according to court documents.
Joseph L. Ward, 32, of 4950 42nd St. NE is charged with felony counts of enticing a minor and dissemination of pornography to a minor, according to the complaint filed Thursday in Linn County District Court.
Ward enticed the girl to a vacant trailer in the 2900 block of Johnson Avenue NW last Sept. 11 and showed her a pornographic magazine, the complaint said.
Ward remains in the Linn County Jail in lieu of $85,000 bail. It’s a familiar place – Ward’s record includes numerous felony theft and burglary convictions in Linn and surrounding counties. He was awaiting trial on a burglary charge Nov. 3, 2001, when he and three teenagers stole a semi-trailer truck in Cedar Rapids and led police on a 10-minute chase that ended in Marion.
Ward was sentenced to five years in prison for that incident.
