CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A Cedar Rapids man faces charges after he led officers on a high-speed chase early Friday morning.

Officials attempted to pullover a vehicle for a regulation violation around 12:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue SE driven by 22-year-old Trevor M. Primmer. According to a criminal complaint, authorities in a marked law enforcement vehicle gave Primmer a visual and audible signal to stop. Authorities said Primmer then attempted to elude officials and exceeded the posted speed limit by 25 mph or more in the 600 block of 12th Avenue SE.

Authorities eventually stopped Primmer on the 12th Avenue Bridge, and discovered a drug pipe, as well as a prescription drug in Primmer's possession without a legal prescription. Primmer's license was also barred for a period of two years beginning in November 2012.

He has been charged with one count of attempting to elude, one count of driving while barred, one count of unlawful possession of a prescription drug and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
