Cedar Rapids Library Director Resigning

By Brandi Bachman

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The director of the Cedar Rapids Library is resigning from his position to be director of the library system in Douglas County, Colorado. Bob Pasicznyuk came to Cedar Rapids in 2009, a year after the flood wiped out the city's main library. Pasicznyuk says he gained a lot of experience he will use in Colorado as there are building projects in the works there.

"Most of the time libraries do one building project," Pasicznyuk said, "and it might be the work of a lifetime to do two simultaneous projects in five years is the chance of a lifetime."

During his tenure, Cedar Rapids opened the new, $49 million library and launched a new west side library.
