Cedar Rapids Firefighters Train Downtown

By Kayleigh Milas

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Cedar Rapids firefighters are training downtown this week.

On Monday, fire crews participated in standpipe training at Geneva Towers and the Fourth Avenue Parkade. Standpipes are vertical pipes that firefighters use to connect the fire hose and advance a hose line through stairwells.

The department does not expect the training to interfere with traffic or parking.
