CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Lon Peper, president of the newly-formed Cedar Rapids Curling Club, is hoping to get Iowans more acquainted with the Scottish sport.

Blending elements of bowling, baseball, and shuffleboard, curling is a sport that has been growing in popularity worldwide and is usually a standout during the Winter Olympics.

"What are we watching? That's the way I was up in Canada, because there they show it Friday night like it's Monday Night Football," Peper said.

The club's fall league starts on September 20th. If you want more details on how to join, you can email the club at crcurlingclub@gmail.com.
