By Richard Pratt

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Cedar Falls police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy.

A department news release says officers were sent to a motel, Midway Studios, around 8:15 p.m. on Monday. They found the unresponsive boy with his father.

The boy was pronounced dead at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

Police Chief Jeff Olson says his investigators are calling it an unexplained death, not a suspicious death.

An autopsy was ordered.

Names and other details are not being released.
