CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) - A popular music club in downtown Cedar Falls is closing its doors this year.

Marcus Kjeldsen, owner of Hub Live Music Club, says he's closing the venue in May so he can spend more time with his family.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports the Hub opened in 2007. It's hosted hundreds of local shows and touring performers since then.

Kjeldsen says scheduled performances will go on as planned and other bands are welcome to play the remaining open dates.

Area musicians say the club's closing would diminish the live music scene, and they hope someone else will take over the venue.
