MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A residential care center in Prairie du Chien will close after a June incident that left a child severely injured.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports the state Department of Children and Families revoked Wyalusing Academy's license in September. The company that operates the facility, Clinicare Corp., appealed.

But the academy announced on Tuesday it would give up its licenses as part of a settlement with the state and would close on Nov. 8.

Clinicare President David Fritsch said the facility's 45 residents will be relocated to other residential care facilities for children and adolescents.

The DCF revocation letter says staffers injured the child on June 24 while performing a series of restraints.
