CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A call center will hire 325 new employees.

Thomas L. Cardella & Associates will hire the permanent, full-time workers because the company has signed two new clients and expanded services for two existing clients.

Thomas Cardella, the company's president, declined to name the clients, but said the expansion is for a technical client and an online retail company, and the addition is for a large catalog business and a credit card processor.

The majority of the 325 new positions will be customer service representatives, Cardella said. Of those, 150 will be technical jobs, 75 will be for catalog positions, and the remaining 100 positions will be split between the two expanded clients.

Some management positions also will be added.

The jobs will be based at the facility on 4515 20th Ave. SW in Cedar Rapids. Cardella said he took possession of the building and will begin moving in in a couple weeks.

The company is headquartered at 2738 Edgewood Road SW, where 120 people work. Over the next two to three years, Cardella said he expects to employ between 500 to 600 at the facility on 20th Avenue SW.

The remainder of the staff work in Coralville, Keokuk and Marshalltown.
