Cedar Rapids Police Investigating Suspicious Death

    CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Police are investigating what they're calling a suspicious death in southwest Cedar Rapids.

    According to a news release, police responded to a request to check on the welfare of a person at 228 Jacolyn Drive SW about 4:30 Friday afternoon.

    Officers found 37-year-old Shanna Lee Beyhl dead in an apartment.

    Police said investigators are following several leads and are awaiting the outcome of an autopsy and the State Medical Examiner's determination of cause of death.

    Police said they do not believe there is an immediate threat to the public.
