Man Hit by Car in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A 64-year-old Cedar Rapids man suffered a possible hip injury after being struck by a vehicle near the True Value parking lot on Mount Vernon Road Tuesday morning. The man was conscious prior to being transported to St. Lukes Hospital, officials said.

Officers responded around 10:30 a.m. to a report of a car versus pedestrian in the 3500 block of Mount Vernon Road. Officials on scene said the incident appeared to be a "pure accident."
