Butler, Tama Counties Issue Ban on Burning

ALLISON, Iowa - Butler and Tama counties join a growing list of counties in Iowa to ban burning because of dangerously dry conditions.

Butler County's ban began at 6 a.m. Sunday, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, and will remain in effect until further notice.

Tama County's ban begins at 6 p.m. Monday. Questions may be directed to Tama County officals at (319) 484-3760 or to the State Fire Marshal Division of the Iowa Department of Public Safety at (515) 725-6145.

Fayette, Clayton, Dubuque and Linn counties also have burn bans in place.
