DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Gov. Terry Branstad is back in Iowa after a political fundraising trip to Texas.

Branstad spent Monday in Houston, where he held a fundraiser attended by Republican Gov. Rick Perry. The event at a Mexican restaurant drew about 30 people, but Branstad on Tuesday declined to say how much was raised.

The Republican Branstad has not announced his plans, but is expected to run for re-election in 2014.

Asked why he was traveling to Texas to raise money, Branstad said he was invited by some of Perry's supporters. Branstad said he was impressed by Perry's economic development efforts in Texas.

Perry — whose 2012 presidential bid failed — has not ruled out another run in 2016.
