BERTRAM, Iowa - A 12-year-old Cedar Rapids boy remains hospitalized after his snowmobile was hit by a car Sunday night. The Linn County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened on Iowa Highway 13 near Bertram.

Tv-9 spoke with the driver, 33 year old Nicholas Dighton of Marion, who said that he noticed lights coming towards him while driving. Dighton thought a car was going the wrong way, and slowed down to pull off. The car hit a patch of ice and struck a snowmobile.

The boy was with two others. Neither of which were injured in the crash. The boy was taken first to Saint Luke's, and then to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Police say the boy has non-life threatening injuries.
