Board Approves $35K Payment in ISU Car Crash
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The State Appeals Board has approved a $35,000 legal settlement with a woman who was injured after her car was rear-ended by an Iowa State University employee.
Documents made public Wednesday show the deal settles a lawsuit filed by Nancy Willett related to the accident on March 17, 2010. The accident happened on the Highway 65 off-ramp near Carlisle in Polk County. Both vehicles suffered minor damage. Willett said the impact aggravated her previously diagnosed symptoms of fibromyalgia, body-wide pain that is linked to sleep problems, headaches and anxiety. She says she required physical therapy and her lawsuit sought compensation for medical bills, lost wages and property damage.
