Black Hawk County Man Arrested After Break-In

WATERLOO, Iowa -- A Black Hawk County man is accused of breaking into his ex-wife’s home and assaulting her boyfriend.
According to the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence in Raymond shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday for a report of a break-in and assault.
Police said Eric Hyde, 26, of Raymond, went to his ex-wife’s residence and broke into the bedroom where she was sleeping with her boyfriend. Hyde then began to punch the boyfriend in the head and face, police said. Hyde then fled the residence.
Hyde was found later on Sunday and taken into custody. He faces one count of first-degree burglary, a class B felony.
