BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa - Black Hawk County authorities say a two-vehicle crash sent eight people to the hospital, but none with life-threatening injuries.

The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened about 7:15 Friday night at North Raymond Road and East Cedar-Wapsi near Dunkerton.

Authorities say Steven Michael Chidester Jr., 28 of Davenport failed to stop his car at a stop sign and hit a vehicle driven by Stephanie Nichole Holtmeyer, 25 of Waterloo. Holtmeyer's car went into a ditch and rolled over into a farm field.

An ambulance took Holtmeyer, Seth Gerst, 25 of Waterloo, and two children ages 2 and 11 months to a nearby hospital.

Emergency responders also took Mackenzie Hayeshe, 24, and her 5-year-old daughter, both of Davenport, to the hospital. They were passengers in Chidester's car. Chidester took a personal vehicle to the hospital.

Chidester has been cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
