CHICAGO, Ill. - The accused “Bishop Bomber” will go to trial after all.

John Tomkins appeared in federal court in Chicago Wednesday for a change of plea hearing.

In April 2007, Tomkins was arrested by federal agents at his home in Dubuque. He is accused of sending threatening letters and explosive devices through the mail to investment companies.

In court on Wednesday Tomkins once again pleaded not guilty.

A trial date has not yet been set.
