DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton will visit Iowa this week to support two Democrats running for Congress.
Clinton will speak at a rally in support of Christie Vilsack on Friday in Sioux City. Christie is trying to unseat five-term Republican Rep. Steve King.
Later Friday, Clinton will attend a fundraiser at a downtown Des Moines hotel for Rep. Leonard Boswell, who is running against Republican Rep. Tom Latham.
After once-a-decade redistricting redrew congressional district boundaries, Latham opted to move into the 3rd district and face Boswell rather than run against King.
In Iowa's 1st Congressional District, Republican Ben Lange will get a boost Oct. 17 from U.S. House Speaker John Boehner.
The Gazette reports Boehner will hold a fundraiser in Cedar Rapids for Lange, who will face Democratic Rep. Bruce Braley.
