Bicyclist Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle

MONTICELLO, Iowa – A bicyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision late Thursday evening on Highway 151 in Jones County, authorities said.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a northbound bicyclist was struck from behind by a vehicle around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, about three miles north of Monticello. The vehicle continued northbound after the collision and has not been located.
Lt. Neil Wellner said the bicyclist, 49-year-old Wayne S. Felton, of Cascade, was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where he was in the intensive care unit Friday.
Authorities did not have any information about the description of the vehicle or its driver. An investigation was continuing.
