Bettendorf Standoff Ends As Man Comes Out Of Home
BETTENDORF, Iowa (AP) — A 35-year-old Bettendorf man has ended his 2½-hour standoff with officers.
Jason Obie Sr. left the house and surrendered on Sunday morning. Scott County Jail records said he remained in custody on Monday. Online court records don't list the name of his attorney. He's charged with domestic abuse while displaying a dangerous weapon — an aggravated misdemeanor.
The Bettendorf Police Department says officers were dispatched to the home a little before 8 a.m. Police say Obie had been threatening his wife and daughters with a gun. The incident ended about 10:30 a.m.
Police say a pistol and two magazines were found in the house.
