RIDGEWAY, Iowa - Workers in northeastern Iowa captured pictures Tuesday of a bear in Iowa.

The sighting was reported near the town of Ridgeway, which is about 11 miles west of Decorah.

At 5:15 p.m., workers at Hovden Oil, Tom Marhoul and Travis Zidlicky, were locking the plant when they spotted the bear.

Terry Hovden took pictures as the bear left an area of trees and crossed the field heading south.

Bear are uncommon in Iowa, but do stray into the state. The last sightings in northeastern Iowa were in 2009 and 2010.
