Autopsy Shows Iowa Man Died from Hypothermia in Illinois
DIXON, Ill. (AP) - An autopsy shows an Iowa man whose body was found along a northern Illinois interstate died from hypothermia.
The body of 65-year-old Lee Catlin was found in mid-November, 12 hours after motorists first reported seeing him alive on the side of the Interstate 88.
The (Dixon) Telegraph reports the Bettendorf, Iowa man had a blood-alcohol content of 0.105 during his autopsy. That's above the legal limit to drive.
State police say they're still not sure why Catlin was in Illinois. He didn't have injuries to indicate he'd been in a car accident and his undamaged vehicle was found about a quarter mile away.
Troopers sent to the area where Catlin was seen by passing motorists didn't see any signs of the man. His body was found the next day.
