OGDEN, Iowa (AP) — An autopsy report says a 25-year-old woman from central Iowa was strangled.
The Iowa Medical Examiner's Office said Thursday that Jaclyn Powell, of Ogden, died of asphyxiation due to strangulation.
Her 28-year-old husband, Josh Powell, has been charged with murder.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says Josh Powell was arrested Sunday after Ogden officers went to the Powells' home.
Investigators say Josh Powell called 911 around 10 a.m. Sunday to report that his wife was dead. Court records say Josh Powell reported that he and his wife had fought the night before and that he'd struck her.
Powell remains in Boone County Jail on $2 million bail. His attorneys didn't immediately return calls Thursday from The Associated Press.
