Authorities Investigate Fatal House Fire
BONDURANT, Iowa (AP) — Authorities are investigating the cause of a house fire in central Iowa that killed one woman.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says a preliminary investigation points to an electrical fire in Monday's blaze at a Bondurant house.
Officials say 56-year-old Jaqueline Lorraine Polite was found dead inside the house. A medical examiner says she died due to asphyxia from products of combustion.
One deputy tried to enter the house during the morning fire but failed because of the dense smoke and fire. Other fire and rescue personnel found the structure partially engulfed.
The fire was contained to the house and no other injuries were reported.
