CAMBRIDGE, Iowa - Authorities released a woman's name and new details from her autopsy in the homicide reported in Cambridge Monday.
Vallerie Vee Cory, 49, died from multiple gunshot wounds, the autopsy report shows.
Huxley police were sent to 117 Race St. in Cambridge about 5:17 p.m. Monday. Vallerie Cory was found dead in an upstairs bedroom.
Jeremy Michael Cory, 44, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He remains in the Story County Jail on bond of $1 million.
The autopsy performed at the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner on Vallerie Cory determined the cause of death to be from multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death will be certified as homicide.
The Huxley Police Department, the Central Iowa Drug Task Force and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are continuing the investigation.
Cory's family has set up a fund at the Affinity Credit Union in her honor to be split between her two favorite charities of breast cancer research and another she had been working on at Firestone. People can make donations to "Val Roberts Cory Memorial Fund."
