Authorities Charge Teen For Making False Bomb Threats

EDGEWOOD, Iowa The Delaware County Sheriff's Office has charged a 13-year-old after they said he called in two bomb threats against Edgewood-Colesburg High School.

They said Jacob Ahlers, of Greeley, called 911 twice Tuesday morning. Ahlers allegedly told officials there were multiple bombs in the high school.

Authorities searched for the devices, but found nothing.

Ahlers has been charged in juvenile court with two counts of Threat of Terrorism, and two counts of False Reports. All are Class "D" Felonies.

Superintendent of the Edgewood-Colesburg School District, Ed Klamfoth, said he regretted charges had to be filed, but thinks it will set an example of how serious bomb threats are.
